Setare is a filmmaker and cinematographer based in New York City, US, and Tehran, Iran. Her work deals with personal memory, identity, and belonging with a particular emphasis on migration, displacement, and resilience. She regularly collaborates as a writer, director, and DOP with other creatives and enjoys alternating between scripted and nonfiction projects.

 

Education: Setare graduated from the graduate program in Documentary Media Studies at The New School, New York, and has a Bachelor's degree in Film from the Art University of Tehran. ​​
